Apesar de seu engajamento no movimento modernista e de sua ativa participa\u00e7\u00e3o na famosa &#8216;Semana de Arte Moderna&#8217;, em 1922, ele jamais logrou libertar-se da influ\u00eancia do Parnaso. Aqui cabe um paralelo com outro grande nome do Modernismo.
